சுகாதார அமைச்சினால் அறிவிப்பிற்கு இணங்க, தேசிய நுளம்பு ஒழிப்பு வாரத்தின் கீழ் ஜூலை 01 ஆம் திகதி நடத்தப்பட்ட ஆய்வுகளின் பின்னணியில் 553 இடங்களுக்கு சிவப்பு அறிக்கைகள்(red notices) வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.
தேவையான நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்கப்பட்ட இந்த விசேட நாடளாவிய திட்டத்தின் போது மொத்தமாக 22,294 இடங்கள் ஆய்வு செய்யப்பட்டன. இது டெங்கு மற்றும் நுளம்பு மூலம் பரவும் நோய்களை கட்டுப்படுத்தும் நோக்கில் முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்டது.
சமூக மருத்துவ நிபுணர் Dr. Prasheela Samaraweera தெரிவித்துள்ளார். அதுமட்டுமல்லாது 4,965 இடங்களில் நுளம்பு பெருகும் வாய்ப்பு உள்ள சூழ்நிலைகள் கண்டறியப்பட்டதுடன் 657 இடங்களில் நுளம்பு முட்டைகளையும் (larvae) கண்டறிந்துள்ளனர்.
Dr. Samaraweera மேலும், ஜூன் 30ஆம் தேதியில் தொடங்கிய இந்த திட்டத்தின் முதல் இரண்டு நாட்களில் மட்டும் 48,354 இடங்கள் ஆய்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன என தெரிவித்துள்ளார். இதில், 10,591 இடங்கள் நுளம்பு பெருக்கக்கூடிய இடங்களாக அடையாளம் காணப்பட்டுள்ளன. மேலும் 1,611 இடங்களில் நுளம்பு முட்டைகள் கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ளன. இதன் விளைவாக 1,193 சிவப்பு அறிக்கைகள் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. மற்றும் 256 சட்ட நடவடிக்கைகள் ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

Red Notices Issued for Multiple Locations in Mosquito Control Operation
According to the Ministry of Health, 553 red notices have been issued following inspections conducted on July 1 under the ongoing National Mosquito Control Week.
A total of 22,294 locations were inspected during this special islandwide initiative, which was launched with the aim of controlling dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases.
Community Medical Specialist Dr. Prasheela Samaraweera stated that 4,965 locations were identified as having environments conducive to mosquito breeding, and mosquito larvae were detected at 657 of these sites.
Dr. Samaraweera further noted that during the first two days of the campaign, which began on June 30, a total of 48,354 premises were inspected. Among them, 10,591 locations were flagged as potential mosquito breeding sites, and active mosquito larvae were found at 1,611 sites. This led to the issuance of 1,193 red notices and the initiation of 256 legal actions.
Therefore, considering the risk of mosquito breeding, it is essential that the public remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
