இப் பூங்காவானது தற்போது ஜக்கிய இராச்சியத்தில் வசிக்கும் மட்டக்களப்பு திருப்பழுகாமத்தினைச் சேர்ந்த மட்/சிவானந்த வித்தியாலயத்தின் பழைய மாணவர் திரு.க.சற்குணேஸ்வரன் அவர்களின் முயற்ச்சியினால் ஸ்தாபிக்கப்பட்டு, அவர் 1996ஆம் ஆண்டு ஸ்தாபித்த சமூக நலன்புரி அமைப்பினால் நடைமுறைப்படுத்தப்பட்டு வருகின்றது.
மிகவும் அழகு நிறைந்த பூங்காவுடனும், சுவாமி விவேகானந்தரின் 30 அடி உயரமான திருவுருவச் சிலையுடனும் 3½ ஏக்கர் பரப்பான காணியில் நிர்மாணிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள இப் பூங்காவானது கடந்த 2024.08.25ஆம் திகதி ராமகிருஷ்ண மிஷன் சுவாமிஜிக்களிளால் வைபவரீதியாக திறந்துவைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

Vivekananda Park, Batticaloa
The Vivekananda Park is envisioned as a serene and inspiring space that imparts positive thoughts and mental well-being to the younger generation. It aims to support their personal development while also serving as a nature-infused spiritual and cultural tourism center reflecting the heritage of our district.
This park has been established through the dedicated efforts of Mr. K. Sarkuneswaran, a former student of BT/Sivananda Vidyalayam from Thiruppazham village in Batticaloa, who is currently residing in the United Kingdom. It has been implemented through the social welfare organization he founded in 1996.
Built on a 3½-acre land, this beautiful park features a 30-foot-tall statue of Swami Vivekananda and was ceremonially inaugurated by the monks of the Ramakrishna Mission on August 25, 2024.
