பலாங்கொடை – நன்பேரியல் வனப்பகுதியில் கடந்த 12 ஆம் திகதி ஏற்பட்ட காட்டு தீ நான்காவது நாளாக தொடர்கின்றது.
சிவனொளி பாத மலை அடிவாரத்திலுள்ள வனப்பகுதியிலே இந்த காட்டு தீ பரவிவருவதாக காவல்துறை தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
காட்டுத் தீயினால் நேற்று மாலை வரை சுமார் 1,000 ஏக்கர் வனப்பகுதி தீக்கிரையாகியுள்ளதாக எமது செய்தியாளர் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.
இந்தநிலையில் இரத்தினபுரி மாவட்ட அனர்த்த முகாமைத்துவ அதிகாரிகள், இராணுவ வீரர்கள், காவல்துறையினர் மற்றும் பிரதேச மக்கள் ஆகியோர் இணைந்து தீயினை கட்டுப்படுத்துவதற்கான முயற்சிகளை மேற்கொண்டு வருகின்றனர்.

Forest fires continue for 4th day
The forest fire that broke out in the Balangoda – Nanperiyal forest area on the 12th continues for the fourth day.
The police have stated that the forest fire is spreading in the forest area at the foot of the Sivanoli Pada mountain.
Our correspondent has stated that about 1,000 acres of forest area has been burnt due to the forest fire as of yesterday evening.
Meanwhile, Ratnapura District Disaster Management Officers, Army personnel, Police and local people are jointly making efforts to control the fire.
