எதிர்வரும் காலத்தில் லஞ்ச் சீட் பாவனை முற்றாகத் தடை செய்யப்படவுள்ளதாக மத்திய சுற்றாடல் அதிகார சபை தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

லஞ்ச் சீட்க்கு மாற்றாக பிளாஸ்டிக் அல்லாத லஞ்ச் சீட்கள் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்படுமென்று மத்திய சுற்றாடல் அதிகார சபையின் தலைவர் பேராசிரியர் திலக் ஹேவாவசம் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார். 

அடுத்த மாதம் முதலாம் திகதி முதல் பொலித்தீன் பைகளை இலவசமாக வழங்க முடியாதெனவும் இலவசமாக வழங்கப்படாத பொலித்தீன் கொள்கலன் பைகளுக்கு நுகர்வோரிடமிருந்து வசூலிக்கப்படும் தொகையைப் பற்றுச்சீட்டில் குறிப்பிட வேண்டுமெனவும் நுகர்வோர் விவகார அதிகார சபை அண்மையில் வர்த்தமானி அறிவித்தலை வெளியிட்டிருந்தது. 

வட மாகாணத்தில் லஞ்ச் சீட் பதிலாக வாழை இலைகளைப் பயன்படுத்துவதற்கான யோசனையும் முன்வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

Complete Ban on the Use of Lunch Sheets

The Central Environmental Authority has announced that the use of lunch sheets will be completely banned in the near future.

Professor Thilak Hewawasam, Chairman of the Central Environmental Authority, stated that non-plastic lunch sheets will be introduced as an alternative to plastic lunch sheets.

Furthermore, starting from the 1st of next month, polythene bags cannot be distributed free of charge. The Consumer Affairs Authority recently issued a gazette notification stating that if consumers are charged for polythene bags, the amount must be clearly mentioned on the bill.

It is also noteworthy that in the Northern Province, a proposal has been made to use banana leaves instead of lunch sheets.
