Punjab Kings Don’t Need to Attend the Auction
Punjab Kings co-owner Ness Wadia has said that the team doesn’t really need to attend the upcoming IPL auction. The mini-auction for the next IPL season will be held on December 16 in Abu Dhabi.
Before the mini-auction, all 10 IPL teams retained and released players according to their requirements.
Some players were also bought and sold through trading.
In this situation, Tamil Nadu media has reported that Ness Wadia stated Punjab Kings do not need to participate in next month’s IPL mini-auction.
Speaking about this, he said:
“We have tried to build a culture of staying together as a team. We didn’t release players because we wanted to release them. The decision to release players was very tough for Punjab Kings. With Ricky Ponting and Shreyas Iyer on the team, the squad is well-balanced. So, we actually don’t need to go to the IPL auction. However, we will try to further strengthen our current squad.”
Under the leadership of Ricky Ponting–Shreyas Iyer, Punjab Kings reached the final for the first time in 11 seasons.
