வடக்கு, வடமத்திய, கிழக்கு மற்றும் ஊவா மாகாணங்களில் இன்று (25) முதல் மழை பெய்யும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுவதாகவும், நாட்டின் பெரும்பாலான பகுதிகளில் வானம் மேகமூட்டத்துடன் காணப்படும் என்றும் வளிமண்டலவியல் திணைக்களம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
வடக்கு, வடமத்திய, கிழக்கு மற்றும் ஊவா மாகாணங்களிலும், ஹம்பாந்தோட்டை மற்றும் மாத்தளை மாவட்டங்களிலும் அவ்வப்போது மழை அல்லது இடியுடன் கூடிய மழை பெய்யும்.
நாட்டின் ஏனைய பகுதிகளில் பிற்பகல் 1.00 மணிக்குப் பின்னர் மழை அல்லது இடியுடன் கூடிய மழை பெய்யும்.
கிழக்கு, வடமத்திய, ஊவா மற்றும் தென் மாகாணங்களில் சில இடங்களில் 100 மில்லிமீற்றருக்கும் அதிகமான பலத்த மழை பெய்யக்கூடும்.

New Low-Pressure Area Expected to Form
A new low-pressure area is likely to form over the southwest Bay of Bengal today, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Rainfall is expected from today (25) in the Northern, North Central, Eastern, and Uva Provinces, and the sky over most parts of the country will remain cloudy, the Department added.
The Northern, North Central, Eastern, and Uva Provinces, as well as the Hambantota and Matale districts, will experience intermittent showers or thundershowers.
In other parts of the country, showers or thundershowers are expected after 1.00 p.m..
Some areas in the Eastern, North Central, Uva, and Southern Provinces may receive heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm.
Other areas of the country may receive heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm.
Meanwhile, Indian media reported that a new low-pressure area has already formed over the Bay of Bengal.
It has also been stated that this low-pressure system may intensify within the next 24 hours.
