கூகுள் வரைபடத்தில் இலங்கையின் பிரதான வீதிகளுக்கு புதிய வசதிகள்

இலங்கையின் பிரதான வீதி வலையமைப்புக்கு தற்போது கூகுள் வரைபடத்தில் (Google Maps) நிகழ்நேர நிலை குறித்த எச்சரிக்கைகள் (real-time condition alerts) மூலம் ஆதரவு கிடைப்பதாகப் போக்குவரத்து அமைச்சர் பிமல் ரத்நாயக்க தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

இந்த புதிய மேம்படுத்தல் இலங்கையின் 12,000 கிலோமீற்றர் நீளமுள்ள பிரதான வீதிகளை உள்ளடக்கியது.

இது, வீதி மூடல்கள் மற்றும் கட்டுமானப் பணிகள் உட்பட ஆறு வகையான எச்சரிக்கைத் தகவல்களை வழங்குகிறது.

பயணத் திட்டங்களை மிகவும் திறமையாகத் திட்டமிடவும், எதிர்பாராத தாமதங்களைத் தவிர்க்கவும், வீதிப் பாதுகாப்பை மேம்படுத்தவும் இந்த முன்னோடித் திட்டம் உதவும் என்று அமைச்சர் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.

இது குறித்த அமைச்சர் பிமல் ரத்நாயக்க தனது X சமூக ஊடகப் பதிவில், “உங்கள் பயணங்களைச் சிறப்பாகத் திட்டமிடவும், நேரத்தைச் சேமிக்கவும், எதிர்பாராத போக்குவரத்து நெரிசலை தவிர்க்கவும் இது பெரிய உதவியாக இருக்கும்” என்று தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

புறப்படுவதற்கு முன் பயணிகள் கூகுள் வரைபடச் செயலியில் உள்ள புதுப்பித்த தகவல்களைச் சரிபார்க்குமாறும் அவர் கேட்டுக்கொண்டுள்ளார்.

அண்மையில் ஏற்பட்ட சூறாவளியைத் தொடர்ந்து இலங்கையின் வீதி வலையமைப்பில் ஏற்பட்ட பலத்த சேதங்களுக்குப் பின்னர் இந்த அறிவிப்பு விடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இந்த முன்னோடித் திட்டம் எதிர்வரும் 31 ஆம் திகதி வரை நடைமுறையில் இருக்கும் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

New Features Added on Google Maps for Sri Lanka’s Main Roads

Transport Minister Bimal Rathnayake has announced that Sri Lanka’s main road network is now supported on Google Maps through real-time condition alerts.

This new update covers 12,000 kilometres of Sri Lanka’s primary road network.

The system provides six types of alert information, including road closures and ongoing construction work.

The Minister stated that this pioneering initiative will help travellers plan their journeys more efficiently, avoid unexpected delays, and improve road safety.

In his post on the X social media platform, Minister Bimal Rathnayake said:
“This will greatly help you plan your journeys better, save time, and avoid unexpected traffic congestion.”

He also requested travellers to check the updated information on the Google Maps app before leaving for their destinations.

This announcement comes after the severe damage caused to Sri Lanka’s road network due to the recent cyclone.

The pilot project will remain active until the 31st of this month.
