விவேகானந்த தொழில்நுட்பவியல் கல்லூரியானது பயிலுனர்களுக்கு பயிற்சிநெறியினை வழங்குவதில் மட்டும் கவனம் கொள்ளாது அவர்களின் சமூக வாழ்வை மேம்படுத்தகூடிய வகையில் பல்வேறு இணைப்பாட விதான செயற்பாடுகளை முன்னெடுத்து வருகின்றமை குறிப்பிட்டதக்க விடயமாகும்.
அந்த வகையில் கல்லூரியினால் வருடா வருடம் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்படும் சுற்றுலா கடந்த 17.04.2025 அன்று இடம் பெற்றது.
இச் சுற்றுலாவுக்கு விவேகானந்த தொழில்நுட்ப கல்லூரியின் புதுக்குடியிருப்பு மற்றும் கொம்மாதுறை கல்லுாரிகளில் தொழில் கல்வி பயிலும் பயிலுனரகள் மற்றும் சேவையாளர்கள் உட்பட சுமார் 80க்கும் மேற்பட்டோர் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.
கண்டி மாவட்டத்தை மையப்படுத்திய இச் சுற்றுலாப் பயணத்தில் மகாஓயா, விக்டோரியா நீர்வீழ்ச்சி, கண்டி குண்டகசாலை, பேராதனைப் பூங்கா மற்றும் கண்டி மத்திய நிலையம் ஆகிய இடங்களுக்கு சென்று பார்வையிட்டமை குறிப்பிட்டதக்க விடயமாகும்.
கண்டி குண்டகசாலையின் பணியாளர்களினால் அவர்களின் செயற்பாடுகள் குறித்தும் அவர்களின் ஆய்வு கூடங்களை பற்றியும் அதன் செயற்பாடுகள் குறித்தும் விளக்கம் அளிக்கப்பட்டதோடு அப் பாடநெறியை தொடர்வதற்கு தேவையான தகுதிகள் மற்றும் பாடநெறி களுக்கு விண்ணப்பிக்கும் முறைகள் என்பது பற்றி முழுமையாக தெளிவூட்டப்பட்டது.

A Journey Beyond the Classroom
Vivekananda College of Technology has consistently focused not only on delivering vocational training to its students but also on enhancing their social and real-world understanding through integrated activities. These efforts aim to shape well-rounded individuals equipped for both career and life.
In line with this vision, the college organizes an annual educational tour, which took place this year on April 17, 2025.
More than 80 participants, including trainees and staff members from both Puthukudiyiruppu and Kommathurai campuses of the college, enthusiastically took part in this year’s tour.
The excursion focused on the Kandy district, covering notable sites such as Mahaoya, Victoria Falls, Kandy Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya Park, and the Kandy Central Railway Station—each offering a unique blend of natural beauty and technical insight.
A highlight of the trip was the educational visit to the Kandy Railway Workshop, where staff provided in-depth explanations of the operations, the engineering units, and the research labs functioning within the premises. Students also received valuable information about the qualifications required and the application process for pursuing advanced technical courses and careers related to railway and mechanical engineering.
Beyond sightseeing, this tour acted as a bridge between theory and practice. The students were not just observers—they engaged in active learning, asked questions, took notes, and explored the application of concepts they had learned in the classroom.
By interacting directly with professionals and observing large-scale operational systems, students gained insights into career pathways, team collaboration, and real-world challenges faced in technical industries. These experiences often ignite curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and motivate learners to pursue further studies or internships.
