குகையின் சுவரில் காணப்படும் சிவப்பு நிற கை ஓவியம், இதுவரை கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டதிலேயே மிகவும் பழமையான பாறை ஓவியம் என்று விஞ்ஞானிகள் தெரிவித்தனர்.
மற்ற ஓவியங்களில் பறவைகளின் தலைகள் மற்றும் பிற விலங்குகளின் அம்சங்களைக் கொண்ட மனித உருவங்கள் காணப்பட்டன.
குகைச் சுவரில் கைகளை வைத்து, அதன் மேல் நிறமிகளை ஊற்றி இந்த உருவங்கள் உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

Discovery of the World’s Oldest Cave Painting
International media report that the world’s oldest known cave painting has been discovered in Indonesia.
The cave painting is estimated to be about 67,800 years old.
Archaeologists made the discovery while conducting research in a cave on Muna Island, located along the coast of Indonesia. During the study, they found human-made rock paintings on the wall of a limestone cave.
Scientists stated that the red hand stencil seen on the cave wall is the oldest rock painting ever discovered to date.
Other paintings in the cave include human figures with bird-like heads and features of other animals.
These images were created by placing hands on the cave wall and blowing or applying pigments over them.
Some of the hand images appear to have modified fingertips, giving them a sharp or pointed appearance.
Researchers also noted that this cave painting, dating back about 67,800 years, is slightly older than the 66,700-year-old Neanderthal handprint found in Spain.
