பாலின சமத்துவத்துக்கான சர்வதேச தரவரிசையில் இலங்கையின் நிலை
சர்வதேச ரீதியில், பாலின சமத்துவத்தில், இலங்கை பின்னடைவில் உள்ளதாக, ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் பெண்கள் பிரதிநிதிகள் தெரிவித்தனர்.
இலங்கையில் பாலின சமத்துவம் குறித்து ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் பெண்கள் திட்டத்தால் நடத்தப்பட்ட ஆய்விலேயே இந்த விடயம் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இந்த ஆய்வின் தீர்மானங்களும்;, பரிந்துரைகளும் பெண் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர்கள் ஒன்றியத்திற்கு சமர்ப்பிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
அதன்படி, பொருளாதார வலுவூட்டல், ஆட்சி மற்றும் தீர்மானம் எடுப்பதில் பெண்களின் தலைமைத்துவம், பெண்கள், அமைதி மற்றும் பாதுகாப்பு, பெண்கள் மற்றும் சிறுமிகளுக்கு எதிரான வன்முறையைத் தடுத்தல் ஆகிய துறைகளில் அடிப்படைக் கவனம் செலுத்தி குறித்த ஆய்வு நடத்தப்பட்டதாக, இந்தத் திட்டத்தின் பிரதிநிதிகள் குழு தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
அதற்கமைய, உலகளாவிய சூழ்நிலையில் இலங்கையின் பாலின சமத்துவத்தில் பின்னடைவு ஏற்பட்டுள்ளதை அடையாளம் காண முடிந்ததாக அந்தப் பிரதிநிதிகள் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
அத்துடன், 2006 ஆம் ஆண்டில், இலங்கை 115 நாடுகளில் 18 ஆவது இடத்தில் இருந்துள்ளது.
எனினும், 2025 ஆம் ஆண்டில், இலங்கை 148 நாடுகளில் 130 வது இடத்தில் இருப்பதாக அவர்கள் சுட்டிக்காட்டியுள்ளனர்.
எவ்வாறாயினும், பிராந்தியத்தில் மிகவும் செல்வாக்கு மிக்கவர்களில் சிலர் பெண்கள் உள்ள போதிலும், ஆண்களுடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க சமத்துவமின்மை அடையாளம் காணப்பட்டுள்ளதாக தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

Sri Lanka’s Position in the Global Gender Equality Rankings
According to representatives from the United Nations Women’s delegation, Sri Lanka has fallen behind in terms of gender equality at the international level.
This finding was revealed through a study conducted by the United Nations Women’s Programme on gender equality in Sri Lanka.
The conclusions and recommendations of the study have been submitted to the Association of Women Parliamentarians.
According to the representatives, the study primarily focused on areas such as women’s economic empowerment, leadership in governance and decision-making, women, peace and security, and the prevention of violence against women and girls.
Based on the findings, it has been identified that Sri Lanka has experienced a decline in gender equality within the global context.
In 2006, Sri Lanka ranked 18th out of 115 countries, but by 2025, it has dropped to 130th out of 148 countries, the representatives pointed out.
Despite the presence of several highly influential women in the region, the report highlights that significant gender inequality still exists when compared to men.
