Heavy Rain Expected Today

The Department of Meteorology has forecast that heavy rainfall may occur today (03) in the Northern, North Central, Eastern, and Uva Provinces, as well as in the Nuwara Eliya and Matale districts.

In the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, and in the Galle and Matara districts, showers or thundershowers may occur after 2.00 p.m., with some areas receiving more than 50 mm of rainfall.

Misty conditions may prevail during the early morning hours in the Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces, and in the Galle, Matara, and Badulla districts.

The Department of Meteorology urges the public to take necessary precautions to minimize possible risks during thundershowers.
