வடக்கு, வடமத்திய மற்றும் வடமேல் மாகாணங்களிலும் ஹம்பாந்தோட்டை மாவட்டத்திலும் பலத்த மழை பெய்யக்கூடும்.

ஏனைய பகுதிகளில், பிற்பகல் 2.00 மணிக்குப் பின்னர் சில இடங்களில் மழை அல்லது இடியுடன் கூடிய மழை பெய்யக்கூடும், மேலும் சில இடங்களில் 50 மில்லிமீற்றருக்கும் அதிகமான ஓரளவு பலத்த மழை பெய்யக்கூடும் என்று கூறப்படுகிறது.

மத்திய மலைநாட்டின் கிழக்கு சரிவுகளிலும், வடக்கு, வடமத்திய மற்றும் வடமேல் மாகாணங்களிலும், மாத்தளை, திருகோணமலை மற்றும் ஹம்பாந்தோட்டை மாவட்டங்களிலும், சில இடங்களில் மணிக்கு 30-40 கிலோ மீற்றர் வேகத்தில் பலத்த காற்று வீசக்கூடும் என்று அந்த அறிக்கையில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

மேல், சபரகமுவ மற்றும் மத்திய மாகாணங்களிலும், காலி, மாத்தறை மற்றும் பதுளை மாவட்டங்களிலும் காலை நேரங்களில் சில இடங்களில் மூடுபனி நிலவக்கூடும்.

Heavy Rainfall in Several Provinces

The Department of Meteorology has forecast that intermittent rain may occur today (07) in the Uva Province as well as in the Matale, Nuwara Eliya, Ampara, and Batticaloa districts.

Heavy rainfall is also expected in the Northern, North Central, and North Western Provinces, along with the Hambantota District.

In other areas, showers or thundershowers may occur at several places after 2.00 p.m., with some locations likely to receive fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 millimeters.

According to the report, strong winds of around 30–40 km/h may occur at times in the eastern slopes of the central hills, and in the Northern, North Central, and North Western Provinces, as well as in the Matale, Trincomalee, and Hambantota districts.

Morning mist is expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central Provinces, and in the Galle, Matara, and Badulla districts.

The Department of Meteorology urges the public to take necessary precautions to minimize risks caused by temporary strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
