Due to the influence of a wave-like atmospheric disturbance affecting the eastern region, the Department of Meteorology has forecast that the prevailing rainy weather in the northern and eastern parts of the country will continue for the next few days.
Accordingly, intermittent showers may occur in the Northern, North Central, Eastern, Uva and Central Provinces.
In addition, heavy rainfall exceeding 100 millimetres may be recorded in the Eastern and Central Provinces as well as in the Badulla and Polonnaruwa districts.
