கிழக்கு பல்கலைக்கழகத்திற்கு புதிய உபவேந்தர்

கிழக்கு பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் 11 ஆவது உபவேந்தராக பேராசிரியர் பரராஜசிங்கம் பிரதீபன் அவர்கள் 17 . 06 . 2025 ஆம் திகதி, செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை அன்று தனது புதிய பொறுப்புகளை உத்தியோகபூர்வமாக ஏற்றுக்கொண்டார்.

இவர், 1974 அக்டோபர் 12 ஆம் திகதி காரைதீவில் பிறந்தார் . முத்தமிழ் வித்தகர் சுவாமி விபுலானந்த அடிகளார் பிறந்த மண்ணான காரைதீவிலிருந்து உயர் பதவிக்கு தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்படும் முதல் உபவேந்தர் என்ற பெருமையுடன் இவர் இந்த பதவியை பெற்றுள்ளார். இவர் மறைந்த டாக்டர் பரராஜசிங்கம் மற்றும் லில்லிமலர் தம்பதியரின் ஒரே புதல்வராவர்.

பேராசிரியர் பிரதீபன், இதற்கு முன்பு கிழக்கு பல்கலைக்கழக விஞ்ஞான பீடாதிபதியாக பணியாற்றியுள்ளார். பல்கலைக்கழக பேரவையால் நடைபெற்ற நேர்முகத்தேர்வில் தோற்றியவர்களுக்குள் முதலிடம் பெற்ற மூன்று பேரின் பெயர்கள் பல்கலைக்கழக மானிய ஆணைக்குழுவினூடாக ஜனாதிபதிக்கு பரிந்துரை செய்யப்பட்டது.

அதனுள் முதலிடம் பெற்று ஜனாதிபதியால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட உத்தியோகபூர்வ நியமனக் கடிதத்தின் அடிப்படையில், பேராசிரியர் பரராஜசிங்கம் பிரதீபன் அவர்கள் கிழக்கு பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் 11 ஆவது உபவேந்தராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார் என்பது குறிப்பிடதக்கதாகும். புதிய உபவேந்தரின் பணி சிறக்க நாம் வாழ்த்துக்களை தெரிவித்துக்கொள்கின்றோம்.

New Vice Chancellor for Eastern University of Sri Lanka

Professor Mr.Pararajasingam Pradeepan officially assumed duties as the 11th Vice Chancellor of Eastern University on Tuesday, 17th June 2025.

He was born on 12th October 1974 in Karaitheevu. With pride, he becomes the first Vice Chancellor to be appointed from Karaitheevu — the birthplace of the renowned Tamil scholar Swami Vipulananda.

He is the only son of the late Dr. Pararajasingam and Mrs. Lillimalar.

Professor Pradeepan previously served as the Dean of the Faculty of Science at Eastern University. During the selection process conducted by the university senate, his name, along with two other top-ranking candidates, was recommended to the University Grants Commission and then forwarded to the President.

Based on this, Professor Pararajasingam Pradeepan, who ranked first, was appointed as the 11th Vice Chancellor of Eastern University through an official letter of appointment issued by the President.
