தொழில் கல்விக்கு பெற்றோரின் ஒத்துழைப்பு

விவேகானந்த தொழிநுட்பவியல் கல்லூரியானது பயிற்சிக்காக வரும் மாணவர்களுக்கு பயிற்சிநெறியினை வழங்குவதில் மட்டும் கவனம் கொள்ளாது அவர்களின் சமூக வாழ்வை அவர்கள் மேம்படுத்தகூடிய பல்வேறு செயற்பாடுகளை முன்னெடுத்துவருகின்றது.

அந்த வகையில் மட்டக்களப்பு புதுக்குடியிருப்பு விவேகானந்த தொழில்நுட்பவியல் கல்லூரியில் ICT Technician NVQ-L3, Computer Network Technician NVQ-L4 தொடரும் பயிலுனர்கள் மற்றும் பெற்றோர்களுடனான கலந்துரையாடல் 08.04.2025 செவ்வாய்கிழமை அன்று மு.ப. 10.00 மணிக்கு கல்லூரியின் நிறைவேற்றுப்பணிப்பாளர் திரு.க.பிரதீஸ்வரன் அவர்களின் தலைமையில், அதிபர் திரு.த.சந்திரசேகரம் அவர்களின் வரவேற்புரையுடன் ஆரம்பமானது. இந்நிகழ்வில் 30 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட பெற்றோர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டமை குறிப்பிடதக்க விடயமாகும்.

அந்த வகையில் கல்லூரியின் நிறைவேற்றுப்பணிப்பாளர் அவர்களினால் கடந்த 13 வருட கால கல்லூரியின் வளர்ச்சி பற்றியும் கல்லூரியின் செயற்பாடுகள் பற்றியும் பூரணமான விளக்கங்கள் பெற்றோர்களுக்கு வழங்கிவைக்கப்பட்டதோடு, இன்றைய காலகட்டத்தில் தொழில்கல்வியின் அவசியமும் மற்றும் பயிலுனர்கள் தமது பயிற்சிநெறியின் பின்னர் ஒரு தொழில் அனுபவத்தினை பெறுவதன் அவசியம் பற்றியும் பெற்றோர் மத்தியில் தெளிவூட்டப்பட்டது.

அத்துடன் பயிற்சிக்கான போதனாசிரியர்கள் தமது அனுபவங்கள், பயிலுனர்களின் எதிர்கால செயற்பாடுகளிற்கான ஆலோசனைகள் மற்றும் கல்லூரியின் பயிற்சி நடவடிக்கைகள் பற்றிய தெளிவினை பெற்றோருக்கு வழங்கினர்.

அதனடிப்படையில் பெற்றோர்கள் மத்தியில் தமது பிள்ளைகளின் பயிற்சிநெறி பற்றிய தமது கருத்துக்களை கேட்டுக்கொண்டதற்கிணங்க பயிற்சிக்கு வருகைதந்த பின்னர் வீட்டிலும் அவர்களின் நடவடிக்கையில் மாற்றம் தெரிவதாகவும், இலங்கையின் கல்வி முறைகள் மற்றும் பிள்ளைகளிற்கான எதிர்காலம் பற்றிய தெளிவு கிடைக்கப்பெற்றதாகவும் தெரிவித்தனர்.

அதனைத்தொடர்ந்து கல்லூரியினால் வருடா வருடம் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்படுகின்ற சுற்றுலா, கணினி போட்டிகள், கலாச்சார விளையாட்டு என்பன பற்றியும் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டதோடு கல்லூரியின் நிகழ்ச்சி திட்டமுகாமையாளரின் நன்றியுரையுடன் தொடர்ந்து கலந்துரையாடல் நிறைவுற்றது.

Parents Gaining Insight into Their Children’s Future

Vivekananda College of Technology has consistently focused not only on providing technical training to its students but also on enhancing their personal and social development through various supportive activities. The institution believes that producing technically sound individuals is only one aspect of education; developing responsible, aware, and socially engaged citizens is equally important.

In line with this vision, a special parent-trainee discussion session was held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Vivekananda College of Technology, Puthukudiyiruppu, Batticaloa. The event was organized for trainees following the ICT Technician (NVQ Level 3) and Computer Network Technician (NVQ Level 4) programs, along with their parents.

The session was held under the leadership of Mr. K. Pratheeswaran, the Director of Operations, and was inaugurated with a warm welcome address by the Principal, Mr. T. Chandrasekaram. Remarkably, more than 30 parents participated in this important event, demonstrating strong parental engagement and interest in their children’s educational journey.

During the session, Mr. Pratheeswaran gave an in-depth overview of the college’s 13-year journey of growth and success, highlighting key academic programs, infrastructure improvements, and the institution’s overall mission. He emphasized the importance of vocational education in today’s job market and stressed the need for trainees to gain real-world industry experience following the completion of their courses. His address aimed to raise awareness among parents about how technical education can open doors to successful careers and stable livelihoods.

Further, the training instructors shared their insights, professional experiences, and practical suggestions for the future career paths of the trainees. They also briefed the parents on the nature of the training activities and how the trainees are being prepared to meet current industry demands.

In response, parents were given the opportunity to express their views. Many reported that their children had shown positive behavioral and attitudinal changes at home since joining the course. They also appreciated the college for helping them gain a better understanding of the Sri Lankan education system and the future prospects for their children.

Parents requested the college to facilitate more on-the-job training opportunities, which they felt would significantly enhance the trainees’ hands-on skills and employability. They also expressed satisfaction over the college’s efforts and showed eagerness to see their children continue growing personally and professionally.

As the session concluded, the organizing team presented details about the college’s yearly extracurricular activities, such as educational field trips, computer competitions, and cultural sports festivals. The event ended on a high note with a vote of thanks by the Event Coordinator, acknowledging the presence and participation of all parents and faculty.
