மத்திய சுற்றாடல் அதிகாரசபை, மட்டக்களப்பு மாவட்ட அலுவலகம் இன்று 05/06/2025 வியாழக்கிழமை, காலை 9 .00 மணிக்கு மட்டு மாநகர சபை மண்டபத்தில் உலக சுற்றாடல் தினத்தை மாவட்ட அரசாங்க அதிபர் திருமதி.J.J.முரளிதரன் தலைமையில் “Ending Plastic Pollution” என்னும் தொனிப்பொருளில் நடாத்தியது.
இந்நிகழ்வில் பிரதம விருந்தினர்களாக மாநகர ஆணையாளர் திரு.N.தனஞ்சயன், பிரதிக்கல்வி பணிப்பாளர் திரு.கரிகரராஜ், மத்திய சுற்றாடல் அதிகாரசபை உதவிப்பணிப்பாளர் திரு.T.சுந்தரேசன் மற்றும் முன்னாள் காணி ஆணையாளர் திரு.குருநாதன் ஆகியோர் கலந்தது சிறப்பித்தனர். இந்நிகழ்வில் எமது விவேகானந்த தொழிநுட்பவியல் கல்லூரியின் உத்தியோகஸ்தர்களும் அமிர்தாவின் உத்தியோகஸ்தர்களும் கலந்துகொண்டமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
இந்நிகழ்வின் ஆரம்ப நிகழ்வாக மரநடுகை இடம்பெற்றது. அதனை தொடர்ந்தது பிளாஸ்டிக் மீள்சுழற்ச்சியின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை பற்றியும் பிளாஸ்டிக்கால் எற்படும் நோய்கள் பற்றியும் பிரதம விருந்தினர்களால் உரையாற்றப்பட்டது.
அது மட்டுமல்லாது எமது விவேகானந்த தொழிநுட்பவியல் கல்லூரியின் சிரேஷ்ட பயிற்சி உத்தியோகஸ்தர் திரு.சாள்ஸ் கிரேஷியன் அவர்களால் சூழல் நேயம் மிக்க உற்பத்தி பொருட்களை அறிமுகப்படுத்தல் எனும் செயற்பாடாக பயன்படுத்தப்பட்ட பதாதைகள் மற்றும் குளிர்பானங்களின் வெற்று பக்கட்டுக்களை மீள்பாவனைக்குட்படுத்துதல் பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வு இடம்பெற்றதுடன் உற்பத்தி மாதிரி விவேகானந்த தொழில்நுட்ப கல்லுரி மற்றும் அமிர்தா நிறுவன உத்தியோகத்தர்களலால் அரசாங்க அதிபருக்கு அறிமுகம் செய்யப்பட்டது.

Let’s overcome plastic pollution
The Central Environmental Authority, Batticaloa District Office, organized the World Environment Day event today, Thursday, 05/06/2025, at 9:00 AM at the Batticaloa Municipal Council Hall under the theme “Ending Plastic Pollution”, with the District Government Agent, Mrs. J.J. Muralitharan, presiding over the event.
The event was graced by chief guests including Mr. N. Dhananjayan, Municipal Commissioner; Mr. Karikararaj, Deputy Director of Education; Mr. T. Sundaresan, Assistant Director of the Central Environmental Authority; and Mr. Gurunathan, former Land Commissioner. It is noteworthy that staff from our Vivekananda Institute of Technology and Amirda also participated in the event.
The event commenced with a tree planting ceremony. This was followed by speeches from the chief guests on the importance of plastic recycling and the diseases caused by plastic pollution.
In addition, Mr. Charles Gracian, Senior Training Officer of Vivekananda Institute of Technology, led an awareness session introducing environmentally friendly production materials. He demonstrated the reuse of banners and empty soft drink bottles, conveying the message of sustainable production. A model of eco-friendly production was presented to the District Government Agent by the staff of both Vivekananda Institute of Technology and Amirda.
