ரந்தம்பே-மஹியங்கனை மின் விநியோக முறைமை செயலிழந்ததால் மின் தடை ஏற்பட்டுள்ள பகுதிகளில் நாளை (7) மின்சாரம் மீண்டும் வழங்கப்படும் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுவதாக எரிசக்தி அமைச்சு தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
நாட்டில் நிலவிய பாதகமான வானிலை காரணமாக மின் விநியோக கோபுரம் மற்றும் மின் கேபிள்கள் சேதமடைந்ததைத் தொடர்ந்து மஹியங்கனை ,மட்டக்களப்பு ,அம்பாறை ஆகிய மாவட்டங்களுக்கு மின் விநியோகம் தடைபட்டுள்ளதாக அமைச்சு தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
நிரந்தரசீரமைப்பு நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ள நிலையில், வைத்தியசாலைகள் போன்ற அத்தியாவசிய இடங்களுக்கு தற்காலிகமாக 33,000 மின்னழுத்த கம்பி மூலம் மின்சாரம் வழங்க இலங்கை மின்சார சபை நடவடிக்கை எடுத்துள்ளமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

Rantambe–Mahiyanganaya Power Distribution System to Return to Normal from Tomorrow
The Ministry of Energy has announced that electricity supply is expected to be restored tomorrow (7) in the areas affected by power outages caused by the failure of the Rantambe–Mahiyanganaya power distribution system.
Due to the adverse weather conditions prevailing in the country, power distribution towers and cables were damaged, resulting in power outages in the Mahiyanganaya, Batticaloa, and Ampara districts, the ministry stated.
While permanent repair work is underway, it is noteworthy that the Ceylon Electricity Board has taken steps to temporarily supply electricity to essential locations such as hospitals through a 33,000-volt transmission line.
