Weather Update நாட்டின் பல பகுதிகளில் இன்று ஓரளவு பலத்த மழை பெய்யக்கூடுமென வளிமண்டலவியல் திணைக்களம் எதிர்வு கூறியுள்ளது.

ஊவா மாகாணத்திலும் மட்டக்களப்பு, அம்பாறை மாவட்டங்களிலும் சில இடங்களில் 50 மில்லிமீட்டருக்கும் அதிகமான ஓரளவு பலத்த மழைவீழ்ச்சி எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகின்றது.

கிழக்கு, ஊவா மாகாணங்களிலும் மாத்தளை, நுவரெலியா மாவட்டங்களிலும் அவ்வப்போது மழை பெய்யும் என அந்த திணைக்களம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

வடக்கு, வடமத்திய மாகாணங்களிலும் ஹம்பாந்தோட்டை மாவட்டத்திலும் இடைக்கிடையே மழை பெய்யும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகின்றது.

நாட்டின் ஏனைய பிரதேசங்களில் பல இடங்களில் பிற்பகல் 2 மணிக்குப் பின்னர் மழையோ அல்லது இடியுடன் கூடிய மழையோ பெய்யக் கூடிய சாத்தியம் காணப்படுகின்றது.

மேல், சப்ரகமுவ, மத்திய, வடமேல் மாகாணங்களிலும் காலி, மாத்தறை, அநுராதபுரம் மாவட்டங்களிலும் சில இடங்களில் அதிகாலை வேளையில் பனிமூட்டமான வானிலை காணப்படும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகின்றது.

இடியுடன் கூடிய மழை பெய்யும் சந்தர்ப்பங்களில் ஏற்படும் அனர்த்தங்களைக் குறைப்பதற்குத் தேவையான பாதுகாப்பு முன்னாயத்த நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொள்ளுமாறு வளிமண்டலவியல் திணைக்களம் பொது மக்களை அறிவுறுத்தியுள்ளது.

காலை வேளையில் நிலவும் பனிமூட்டம் காரணமாக வாகனங்களைச் செலுத்தும் சாரதிகள் மற்றும் பொதுமக்கள் அவதானத்துடன் இருக்குமாறு கேட்டுக்கொள்ளப்படுகிறார்கள்.

Weather Update

The Department of Meteorology has forecast that moderately heavy rain may occur in several parts of the country today.

In the Uva Province and in some areas of the Batticaloa and Ampara districts, moderately heavy rainfall exceeding 50 millimeters is expected at times.

Showers are expected at intervals in the Eastern and Uva provinces, as well as in the Matale and Nuwara Eliya districts, according to the department.

Intermittent showers are also expected in the Northern and North Central provinces and in the Hambantota district.

In many other parts of the country, there is a possibility of rain or thundershowers after 2.00 p.m.

Early morning misty conditions are expected in some areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and North Western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, and Anuradhapura districts.

The Department of Meteorology has advised the public to take necessary precautionary measures to minimize possible hazards during thundershowers.

Drivers and the general public are also requested to exercise caution due to misty conditions prevailing during the morning hours.
