உயர்தரப் பரீட்சைக்கு தோற்றியவர்களுக்கான Z புள்ளி இன்று வெளியாகும்
2024 ஆம் ஆண்டு உயர்தரப் பரீட்சைக்கு தோற்றியவர்களுக்கான Z புள்ளி இன்று வெளியாகும் என தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இன்று மாலை 06 மணிக்கு பின்னர் குறித்த Z புள்ளி வெளியாகும் என பல்கலைக்கழக மானியங்கள் ஆணைக்குழு தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
Z–Score என்றால் என்ன?
Z–Score என்பது ஒரு மாணவர் பெற்றுள்ள மதிப்பெண்கள், அவர் தேர்வெழுதிய பாடங்களில் உள்ள பிற மாணவர்களின் மதிப்பெண்களுடன் ஒப்பிட்டு கணக்கிடப்படும் சார்பு மதிப்பீடு முறை ஆகும்.
A/L பரீட்சையில் வெறும் raw marks (மூல மதிப்பெண்) அடிப்படையில் பல்கலைக்கழக சேர்க்கை வழங்க இயலாது.
ஏனெனில் ஒவ்வொரு பாடமும், ஒவ்வொரு மாவட்டத்திலும் மாணவர்களின் போட்டித் தன்மை மாறுபடும்.
இதனால் Z–Score முறை கொண்டு மாணவர்களின் திறமையைச் சரியாக அளவிடப்படுகின்றது.
ஏன் Z–Score அவசியம்?
A/L பரீட்சையில் ஒரே மதிப்பெண் பெற்ற இரண்டு மாணவர்கள், வெவ்வேறு மாவட்டங்களில் வெவ்வேறு போட்டித் தன்மையைக் கொண்டிருக்கலாம்.
அந்த மாணவர்களின் தரவரிசையை (Ranking) தீர்மானிப்பதற்காக Z–Score பயன்படுகிறது.
பல்கலைக்கழகங்களில் பாடப்பிரிவுகளுக்கான மாணவர் சேர்க்கை Z–Score Cut-off அடிப்படையில் நடைபெறுகிறது.
A/L பரீட்சை – ஒரு சுருக்கம்
இலங்கையில் உயர்தரப் பரீட்சை (G.C.E. Advanced Level) பொதுவாக A/L என அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.
இது 3 முக்கிய ஸ்ட்ரீம்களாக நடத்தப்படுகிறது:
விஞ்ஞான பிரிவு (Science Stream) – மருத்துவம், பொறியியல் போன்ற துறைகளுக்கு வழிகாட்டும்.
கலைப் பிரிவு (Arts Stream) – மொழி, வரலாறு, கலைப்பாடங்கள்.
வணிகப் பிரிவு (Commerce Stream) – கணக்கியல், பொருளாதாரம், வணிக மேலாண்மை.
மாணவர்கள் A/L பரீட்சையில் பெற்ற Z–Score அடிப்படையில் பல்கலைக்கழகங்களில் சேர்க்கை பெறுகின்றனர்.
Z–Score வெளியீட்டிற்குப் பிறகு என்ன நடக்கும்?
இன்று மாலை 6 மணிக்கு வெளியிடப்படும் Z–Score பார்த்த பிறகு, மாணவர்கள் தங்களுடைய Ranking அறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.
அதன் பின்னர், பல்கலைக்கழக பாடப்பிரிவு தெரிவு (Course Selection) செய்ய வாய்ப்பு வழங்கப்படும்.
இறுதியாக, UGC cut-off marks அறிவித்து, பல்கலைக்கழக சேர்க்கை நடைமுறைப்படுத்தப்படும்.

Z score for Advanced Level exam candidates to be released today
It has been reported that the Z-score for those who appeared for the 2024 Advanced Level Examination will be released today.
The University Grants Commission has said that the Z-score will be released after 6 pm today.
What is a Z-Score?
Z-Score is a relative assessment system that calculates the marks obtained by a student compared to the marks of other students in the subjects he has written.
University admission cannot be given on the basis of raw marks alone in the A/L examination.
This is because the competitiveness of students in each subject and district varies.
Thus, the Z-Score system is used to accurately measure the ability of students.
Why is Z-Score necessary?
Two students who have obtained the same marks in the A/L examination may have different competitiveness in different districts.
Z-Score is used to determine the ranking of those students.
Admission to courses in universities is based on the Z-Score Cut-off.
A/L Exam – A Summary
In Sri Lanka, the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination is commonly known as A/L.
It is conducted in 3 main streams:
Science Stream – guides to fields like medicine, engineering, etc.
Arts Stream – languages, history, arts.
Commerce Stream – accounting, economics, business management.
Students get admission in universities based on the Z-Score obtained in the A/L exam.
What happens after the release of the Z-Score?
After seeing the Z-Score which will be released at 6 pm today, students will know their Ranking.
After that, they will be given the opportunity to make a university course selection.
Finally, the UGC cut-off marks will be announced and university admission will be implemented.
