2026 இல் வாகன இறக்குமதி சாதாரண நிலைக்குத் திரும்பும்
இலங்கையில் வாகன இறக்குமதிகள், 2026 ஆம் ஆண்டில் சாதாரண நிலைக்குத் திரும்பும் என்று மத்திய வங்கியின் ஆளுநர் நந்தலால் வீரசிங்க நம்பிக்கை வெளியிட்டுள்ளார்.
இறக்குமதி கட்டுப்பாடுகள் நீக்கப்பட்டதைத் தொடர்ந்து ஏற்பட்டிருக்கும் கேள்வியின் அடிப்படையில், 2025 ஆம் ஆண்டுக்குள், இலங்கையர்கள் வாகன இறக்குமதிக்கு சுமார் 1.5 பில்லியன் அமெரிக்க டொலர்களை செலவிடுவார்கள் என்றும் அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
இது, ஏற்கனவே எதிர்பார்க்கப்பட்ட ஒரு பில்லியன் டொலரை விட அதிகமாகும் எனவும் அவர் சுட்டிக்காட்டியுள்ளார்.
இதனிடையில், வாகன இறக்குமதி வரிகளைக் கொண்டு இந்தமுறை, பாதீட்டு பற்றாக்குறையை நிவர்த்திக்க முடியும் என்றும் ஆளுநர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

Vehicle Imports to Return to Normal in 2026
The Governor of the Central Bank, Nandalal Weerasinghe, has expressed confidence that vehicle imports in Sri Lanka will return to normal levels in 2026.
Addressing questions following the removal of import restrictions, he stated that by the end of 2025, Sri Lankans are expected to spend approximately 1.5 billion US dollars on vehicle imports.
He also pointed out that this figure is higher than the previously anticipated one billion dollars.
Meanwhile, the Governor noted that revenues from vehicle import taxes could help address the current fiscal deficit.
