பொதுப் போக்குவரத்துச் சேவைகள் மீண்டும் இயல்பு நிலைக்கு

நாட்டில் கடந்தவாரம் நிலவிய மோசமான வானிலை மற்றும் இயற்கை Public Transport Services Return to Normal அனர்த்தங்களினால் முழுமையாக ஸ்தம்பிதமடைந்த பொதுப் போக்குவரத்து சேவைகள் தற்போது இயல்பு நிலைக்கு கொண்டுவரப்படுகின்றன.

கொழும்பு – யாழ்ப்பாணம் பேருந்து போக்குவரத்து சேவை ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள நிலையில், கரையோர மார்க்கம், பிரதான மார்க்கம், புத்தளம் மற்றும் களனிவெளி ஆகிய தொடருந்து மார்க்கத்தின் தொடருந்து சேவைகள் மட்டுப்படுத்தப்பட்ட நிலையில் இன்று முதல் மீள ஆரம்பிக்கப்படவுள்ளன.

அதற்கமைய, அலுவலக தொடருந்து சேவைகள் அதிகளவில் சேவையில் ஈடுபடுத்தப்படவுள்ளன.

வடக்கு தொடருந்து மார்க்கம் மற்றும் மலையக தொடருந்து மார்க்கம் என்பன மண்சரிவு மற்றும் வெள்ளப்பெருக்கினால் மோசமாக சேதமடைந்துள்ளதால் அந்தப் பகுதிகளுக்கான தொடருந்து சேவைகளை மீள ஆரம்பிப்பதில் தாமதம் ஏற்படும் என்று தொடருந்து திணைக்களம் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளது.

வெள்ளப்பெருக்கு மற்றும் மண்சரிவு ஆகிய அனர்த்தங்களினால் மலையக தொடருந்து மார்க்கம் மற்றும் சமிஞ்சை கட்டடைப்புகள் முழுமையாக சேதமடைந்துள்ளதால், மலையகத்துக்கான தொடருந்து சேவையை மீள ஆரம்பிப்பதை உறுதியாகக் குறிப்பிட முடியாததுள்ளதாகத் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

தேசிய கட்டட ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவகத்தின் அறிக்கையை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டே அடுத்தகட்ட நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படும் என்று தொடருந்து திணைக்களம் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளது.

வடக்கு தொடருந்து மார்க்கம் வெள்ளத்தில் மூழ்கியதைத் தொடர்ந்து பொலன்னறுவை, மன்னம்பிட்டிய ஆகிய பகுதிகளின் தொடருந்து மார்க்கங்களும் சேதமடைந்துள்ளன. இதனால், வடக்குக்கான தொடருந்து சேவையை ஆரம்பிப்பதிலும், கிழக்குக்கான தொடருந்து சேவையை ஆரம்பிப்பதிலும் தாமதம் ஏற்படும் என தொடருந்து திணைக்களம் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளது.

கரையோர தொடருந்து பாதையில் பாரிய பாதிப்பு ஏற்படாத காரணத்தால் கரையோரத்துக்கான தொடருந்து சேவை வழமையான நேர அட்டவணைக்கு அமைய முன்னெடுக்கப்படும் எனக் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

அதற்கமைய, இன்று புத்தளம் மார்க்கத்தில் கொழும்பு கோட்டை முதல் கொச்சிக்கடை வரை காலை 4 மணிமுதல் இரவு 7.10 வரை தொடருந்துகள் சேவையில் ஈடுபடுத்தப்படவுள்ளன.

அதேபோன்று கொச்சிக்கடை முதல் கொழும்பு கோட்டை வரை காலை 6.20 முதல் இரவு 8.20 மணிவரை தொடருந்துகள் சேவையில் ஈடுபடவுள்ளன.

களனிவெளி தொடருந்து மார்க்கத்தில் கொழும்பு கோட்டை முதல் அவிசாவளை வரை காலை 8.30 மணிமுதல் இரவு 8 மணிவரை தொடருந்துகள் சேவையில் ஈடுபடுத்தப்படவுள்ளன.

அத்துடன், அவிசாவளை முதல் கொழும்பு கோட்டை வரை காலை 4.40 மணி முதல் 12.25 வரை தொடருந்துகள் சேவையில் ஈடுபடுத்தப்படவுள்ளன.

பிரதான தொடருந்து மார்க்கத்தில் மருதானை முதல் கனேமுல்ல வரை காலை 6 மணிமுதல் மாலை 6.40 வரை தொடருந்துகள் சேவையில் ஈடுபடவுள்ளன.

கனேமுல்ல முதல் கொழும்பு கோட்டை வரை காலை 7.10 மணிமுதல் இரவு 8 மணிவரை தொடருந்துகள் சேவையில் ஈடுபடுத்தப்படவுள்ளன.

இதேவேளை, தொடருந்து மார்க்கங்கள் சேதமடைந்துள்ளதால் அம்பேபுஸ்ஸ, பொல்கஹவெல, றம்புக்கனை, கண்டி, மாத்தளை, பதுளை, காங்கேசன்துறை, மஹவ, மட்டக்களப்பு, மஹவ திருகோணமலை, மதவாச்சி, மன்னார், கொச்சிக்கடை, புத்தளம் ஆகிய புகையிரத சேவைகள் இடம்பெறாது என தொடருந்து திணைக்களம் அறிவித்துள்ளது.

இதனிடையே, நாட்டில் நிலவிய மோசமான காலநிலையால் கடந்த வாரம் பொது போக்குவரத்து சேவை முழுமையாக ஸ்தம்பிதமடைந்திருந்தது.

வடக்கு, கிழக்கு ஏனைய பகுதிகளுக்கான பிரதான வீதிகள் வெள்ள நீரில் மூழ்கியமை மற்றும் பாலங்கள் உடைந்தமை உள்ளிட்ட காரணிகளால் பேருந்து சேவைகள் இடைநிறுத்தப்பட்டன.

இந்த நிலையில், நேற்றைய தினம் நாட்டில் பெரும்பாலான பகுதிகளில் மழைவீழ்ச்சி குறைவான மட்டத்தில் பதிவாகியதைத் தொடர்ந்து பொது போக்குவரத்து சேவைகள் மீள ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டன.

அதன்படி, கண்டி – யாழ்ப்பாணம் ஏ9 பிரதான வீதி, போக்குவரத்துக்காக மீள ஆரம்பிக்க நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக நெடுஞ்சாலைகள் அமைச்சு தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

Public Transport Services Return to Normal

Public transport services, which were completely disrupted last week due to severe weather and natural disasters in the country, are now being restored to normal.

The Colombo–Jaffna bus service has resumed, and the coastal line, main line, Puttalam line, and Kelani Valley railway services will also restart today on a limited basis.

Accordingly, office train services will be largely deployed.

However, the Northern railway line and the Upcountry railway line have been severely damaged due to landslides and flooding. Therefore, resuming train services to those areas will be delayed, the Railway Department stated.

Since the Upcountry railway line and the related infrastructure have been completely damaged due to flooding and landslides, the department said it is currently unable to confirm when the Upcountry train services can be restored.

Further action will be taken based on the report issued by the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO), the Railway Department added.

The railway tracks in Polonnaruwa and Mannampitiya areas were also damaged after the Northern railway line was submerged in floodwaters. As a result, the resumption of both Northern and Eastern train services will be delayed.

Since the coastal railway line did not suffer significant damage, train services on the coastal line will operate according to the regular timetable.

Accordingly, trains will operate today on the Puttalam line from Colombo Fort to Kochchikade between 4:00 a.m. and 7:10 p.m.

Similarly, trains from Kochchikade to Colombo Fort will operate between 6:20 a.m. and 8:20 p.m.

On the Kelani Valley line, trains will run from Colombo Fort to Avissawella between 8:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Trains from Avissawella to Colombo Fort will run between 4:40 a.m. and 12:25 p.m.

On the Main Line, trains will run from Maradana to Ganemulla between 6:00 a.m. and 6:40 p.m.

Trains from Ganemulla to Colombo Fort will operate between 7:10 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, due to damaged railway lines, train services to Ambepussa, Polgahawela, Rambukkana, Kandy, Matale, Badulla, Kankesanthurai, Maho, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Medawachchiya, Mannar, Kochchikade, and Puttalam will not operate, the Railway Department announced.

Last week, due to severe weather conditions, public transport services had come to a complete standstill. Bus services were suspended because major roads leading to the Northern, Eastern, and other regions were flooded and several bridges were damaged.

Following the decrease in rainfall in many parts of the country yesterday, public transport services have resumed.

Accordingly, steps have been taken to reopen the Kandy–Jaffna A9 highway for transportation, the Ministry of Highways stated.
