Rain likely after 2.00 pm
The Department of Meteorology has forecast that rain or thundershowers may occur in some parts of the country today (3) after 2.00 pm.
Accordingly, scattered rain or thundershowers may occur after 2.00 pm in the Northern, North Central, and Eastern provinces, as well as in the Badulla and Matale districts, the Department stated.
It further mentioned that misty weather conditions may prevail in some places in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and Southern provinces, and also in the Kurunegala and Ampara districts during the early morning.
In this situation, the Department of Meteorology has advised the public to take necessary precautionary measures to minimize potential disasters that may occur during thundershowers.
