90% of Water Supply Infrastructure Restored
Nearly 90 percent of the water supply infrastructure that was damaged due to the disaster situation has now been restored.
This was stated by the Minister of Housing, Construction and Water Supply, Susil Ranasinghe.
Accordingly, 156 out of the 343 water purification plants belonging to the Water Supply Board became non-functional due to the disaster situation.
As a result, water supply activities in the Kandy district were severely affected, and necessary measures have been taken to restore them, he added.
