Respiratory Patients Advised to Remain Cautious

The Media Spokesperson of the Central Environmental Authority, Ajith Gunawardena, has stated that air quality in the country has deteriorated in recent days.

Accordingly, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the Northern, North Central, North Western, and Western Provinces has increased to levels between 150 and 200.

He explained that this situation has arisen due to transboundary air movement and the influence of the Northeast Monsoon.

He also pointed out that similar conditions have been observed during this period in previous years.

People with respiratory conditions may experience health complications under these conditions.

In this context, Ajith Gunawardena has advised the public to seek medical assistance if necessary.
