Green chilli prices may increase in the future

Farmers have expressed concerns that the price of green chillies may rise in the coming days.

Farmers in the Madawachchiya and Keppetipola areas stated that green chilli plants have been severely affected due to the spread of an unidentified disease.

At present, one kilogram of green chillies is being sold in the market at prices of up to Rs. 700.

It is noteworthy that the prices of green chillies and several other vegetables have already increased in view of the festive season.
