Pongal Items Distributed to Flood-Affected Families விவேகானந்த சமுதாய அறக்கட்டளையானது சமூக மாற்றத்திற்கான செயற்பாடுகளூடாக பின்தங்கிய கிராமப்புறத்தில் வறுமைக் கோட்டின் கீழ் வாழும் குடும்பங்கள் மற்றும் பெண்கள் தலைமை தாங்கும் குடும்பங்கள், மாணவர்கள் உள்ளிட்ட அனைவருக்குமான பல்வேறு செயற்பாடுகளின் மூலம் மாற்றத்திற்கான வலவூட்டலினை மேற்கொண்டு வருகின்றது.
அந்த வகையில் டித்வா புயலால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மக்களின் தேவைப்பாட்டிற்கமைய விவேகானந்த சமுதாய அறக்கட்டளையானது பல்வேறு செயற்பாடுகளை புலம்பெயர் உறவுகளின் அனுசரணையுடன் முன்னெடுத்துவருகின்றது.
அதனடிப்படையில், பதுளை மாவட்டத்தில் ஊரி கிராமத்தில் கடந்த டித்வா புயலால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டு முகாம்களில் தங்கியுள்ள 63 குடும்பங்களுக்கு தைப்பொங்கல் தினத்தினை முன்னிட்டு அவர்களுக்கான பொங்கல் பானை மற்றும் பொங்கல் பொருட்களும் வழங்கப்பட்டது.
மலையக சிறுவர் இல்ல ஏற்பாட்டில் VCOT மற்றும் விவேகானந்த சமுதாய அறக்கட்டளையின் நன்கொடை உறவுகளின் நிவாரண அனர்த்த நிதியில் இருந்து இச் செயற்பாடு முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்டமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

Pongal Items Distributed to Flood-Affected Families
The Vivekananda Social Trust has been actively engaged in initiatives aimed at social transformation, empowering underprivileged rural communities, families living below the poverty line, women-headed households, students, and others through various support programmes.
In line with these efforts, and in response to the needs of people affected by Cyclone Dithwa, the Vivekananda Social Trust has been implementing several relief initiatives with the support of overseas well-wishers.
Accordingly, in the Oori village of Badulla District, 63 families who were affected by Cyclone Dithwa and are currently residing in relief camps were provided with Pongal pots and essential Pongal items in view of the Thai Pongal festival.
It is noteworthy that this relief initiative was carried out under the arrangement of the Up-Country Children’s Home, utilizing the disaster relief fund of donors of VCOT and the Vivekananda Social Trust.
