Heavy Rainfall Expected Today

The Department of Meteorology has forecast that heavy rainfall of up to 75 millimeters may be recorded in some parts of the country today.

Accordingly, intermittent showers are expected in the Northern, North Central, Uva, Eastern, and Southern Provinces, as well as in the districts of Matale, Polonnaruwa, and Nuwara Eliya.

In addition, thundershowers may occur in other parts of the country after 1:00 p.m., the department stated.
