Fuel and Electricity Usage: New Guidelines Issued
The Office of the Commissioner General of Essential Services has issued new guidelines regarding fuel and electricity usage.
Accordingly, all nighttime events and musical shows with more than 100 participants are instructed to be conducted without drawing electricity from the national power grid.
Under these guidelines, all air conditioning units in government and statutory institutions must be switched off by 3:00 PM.
The private sector has also been requested to follow this practice.
Illuminated advertising boards and screens installed in various locations for commercial purposes must be turned off after 8:00 PM.
Furthermore, local authorities are advised to implement suitable plans to switch off streetlights between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM.
These guidelines have been distributed to all ministry secretaries, provincial chief secretaries, district secretaries, and heads of all statutory institutions.
